Self-Image

What it is and how to create one for yourself

Hi friend,

“We are what we believe we are.” - C.S Lewis

The way you see yourself shapes everything—how you think, how you act, and ultimately, how you perform.

Think of a person you consider confident.

What do their actions look like?
What is their body language?

A strong and positive self-image leads to confidence, resilience, and success.

A negative one, on the other hand, keeps you stuck, playing small, and second-guessing yourself.

So what exactly is your self-image?

It’s a mental picture you hold of yourself that is shaped by past experiences, the beliefs you’ve internalised, and the way you interpret the world around you.

So today, let’s work on creating your self-image together, step-by-step:

Step 1: Who do you want to be?

Let’s get clear on who you want to be in the future. The version of you that feels most aligned with your values.

When your actions match your values, you feel more in control and self-assured.

In psychology, this is called a “value-based identity” and is the foundation of a strong self-image.

Step 2: Visualise your future self

Take a moment and close your eyes.

Picture the best version of yourself: How do they talk? How do they walk? How do they handle challenges?

Repeatedly visualising this version of yourself will help in strengthening your brain’s neural pathways making it easier for you to replicate it in reality.

A clear vision is all you need.

Step 3: Letting go of old beliefs

We don’t realise just how impactful the stories we tell ourselves can be.

They shape our identity and impact our behaviours, actions, and emotions.

Flip the script and let go of your old limiting beliefs.

Pay attention to your inner dialogue and reframe when you need to.

Step 4: Change your actions

The new you can’t have the same actions as the old you.

Small, daily actions focused on becoming the new version of yourself will pay off in the long run.

Pick a habit and stick to it.

Every time you take action in alignment with your ideal self, you reinforce your new identity.

Step 5: Embody your new self-image

Start acting as your future self today, right here, right now.

Speak with certainty, show up prepared, and make decisions from a place of self-trust.

The more you embody it, the more natural it becomes.

Let’s unlock the version of you that’s been there all along.

Start small. Stay intentional.

Love always,
